According to posts on Yelp as well as our Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page, Fiorella's Express is going to be opening on Tremont Street in the heart of Oak Square, moving into the space where Ray's Grille has been. There will be a small dining area with 16 seats, though it will be counter service only.

Buffalo Wild Wings Is Opening in Saugus

The opening of Buffalo Wild Wings in Danvers may be on the shelf (at least for now), but it looks like the national chain of casual restaurants and sports bars may still be making its presence felt in the Boston area at some point soon.

According to an article in The Daily Item of Lynn, Buffalo Wild Wings (also known as BW3) has received approval for a liquor license by the Saugus Board of Selectmen, paving the way for a new outlet of the popular chicken wing place on Main Street in the Kmart Plaza (just west of Route 1). The article mentions that BW3 would take over the Verizon Wireless space.

Based on information in the article, if all goes as planned, the new Buffalo Wild Wings in Saugus will have 56 televisions, a capacity of just under 250 people, and a closing time of 2:00 AM (1:00 AM for serving alcohol).

Last year, we had reported that BW3 was looking to open in Danvers, making that the first location of the chain in the Boston area, but it appears that the Danvers restaurant may have fallen through. Currently, the only other Buffalo Wild Wings location in Massachusetts is in Hadley, with a few spots in Connecticut as well. [January 10, 2011, UPDATE: A new BW3 has since opened in Leominster, with the Hadley location closing.] The chain has more than 600 locations in 41 states across the country.

It looks like a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar in Brookline that focuses on organic food is opening a new location in the Fresh Pond area of Cambridge.

Based on notes from a License Commission General Hearing on the City of Cambridge website, and also based on a sign in the storefront mentioned in the notes, Genki Ya is going to be moving into the space on Alewife Brook Parkway between Sleepy's and Sav-Mor Spirits (by the Fresh Pond Rotary). Genki Ya currently has a location on Harvard Street between Brookline's Coolidge Corner and the Allston line; we do not know at this time whether the Cambridge restaurant will be a second location of Genki Ya or if the Brookline restaurant will be moving.
