Margaritaville Opens at Faneuil Hall in Boston

Three years ago, it was reported that a legendary singer-songwriter was opening a location of his restaurant chain in Boston, and now we have learned it has debuted, though it opened two months after he passed away.

According to a message sent from Adam Castiglioni of the Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is now open  at Faneuil Hall, moving into the space that had once been home to McCormick & Schmick's. The restaurant includes a bar area on the first floor, a tiki bar on the second floor, and an outdoor space during the warmer months, and the menu includes such options as Caribbean chicken egg rolls, garlic shrimp, fish and chips, crab cakes, coconut shrimp, jambalaya, jerk salmon, burgers, clam po'boys, key lime pie, and more, along with margaritas, "boat drinks," beer, and wine.

Jimmy Buffett, who died in September at the age of 76, was known for such songs as "Margaritaville," "Come Monday," "Son of a Son of a Sailor," "He Went to Paris," and "Cheeseburger in Paradise."

The website for the Boston location of Margaritaville can be found at https://www.margaritavilleboston.com/

CrepeBerry in Wellesley Hills Is Closing

A creperie and cafe in the western suburbs is getting ready to close down after being in business for six years.

According to a source, CrepeBerry in Wellesley Hills is shutting its doors later this month, with a post on its Facebook page from owner Amelia Childs Schwartzman saying the following:

To my beloved customers, the time has come to close our doors. Our last day in business will be October 28th. This was not a decision I made lightly and there were many factors to consider. We emerged the other side of the pandemic with record inflation, skyrocketing labor costs, and a staffing shortage which has been nothing short of frustrating. Beyond these factors that are [affecting] all small businesses right now there's also the fact that MY life looks so much different! I went into the pandemic working open to close seven days a week with an easy 15 minute commute and came out the other side a wife and a mother to a beautiful little boy...with a three hour round trip commute to Wellesley from the South Shore each day....it is time for me to enjoy these moments with my own little family.

CrepeBerry first opened in 2017, offering such items as crepes, toast, bagels, salads, bowls, wraps, coffee, tea, and smoothies.

The address for CrepeBerry is 352 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA, 02481. Its website can be found at https://www.crepeberrytakeout.com/

Late last year, it was reported that one of Boston's best-known restaurants would be reborn in a new space, and now we have learned that it is on the verge of opening.

Based on a post from @HeyRatty and an OpenTable page, Eastern Standard is slated to debut sometime between now and October 12 at the Fenway Center development life sciences complex just outside of Kenmore Square, with tables for October 12 being available at the time of this writing. Once it opens, the new location of the restaurant will join All That Fish + Oyster, with both restaurants being run by Garrett Harker (who is also planning two other dining/drinking spots within the complex).

Eastern Standard is an American brasserie that used to reside at Kenmore Square's Hotel Commonwealth along with Harker's Island Creek Oyster Bar and the Hawthorne, with all three places losing their home in 2021.

The new address for Eastern Standard is 775 Beacon Street, Boston, MA, 02215. Its website is at https://www.easternstandardboston.com/

[October 13 update: BostonTweet has confirmed that Eastern Standard is now open in its new home, and he also says that "All the classics have returned, drinks and food."]
